The Reception of the Fourth Gospel

Dr. Douglas Estes (Friends University) and I are under contract with Baylor University Press to co-edit a three-volume, 70+ chapter work devoted to the historical reception of John's Gospel from the 2nd century to the present. The three volumes boast an international cast of expert contributors and will include chapters on the reception of John in: the early church fathers, Trinitarian debates, early Latin, Coptic, Syriac, and Armenian traditions, Heracleon and Valentinian Gnostic writings, Hermetica, hymnody, art, and film (among others).

Projected publication dates are 2027 (volume one), 2028 (volume two), 2029 (volume three).
